![]() ![]() I own an Mbox 3 and have the exact same issue with mine: Adjusting the main volume pot causes a loud crackling in the right speaker.Įxercising the knop will alleviate the issue for a few minutes, and then it comes right back strong as ever. I plan on taking the unit in for repair tomorrow. Now I'm thinking either the volume pot itself or the soldering thereof is faulty. I assumed that the second output jack was badly soldered to the board, but there would be absolutely no change if I wiggled/applied pressure to the jack output.Ī couple of days later, I noticed the signal in the right speaker would crackle/distort/disappear entirely whenever I'd touch the main mix/volume knob on the Mbox. ![]() The second (right) output channel was much softer. I then disconnected my speakers, and tested outputs 1 and 2 with my headphones. I then switched the cables same problem on the same side. At first I thought it was the speaker itself, but after switching my speakers the problem persisted. ![]() Never had any issues with it, other than the fact that I thought the gain and volume knobs on the Mbox were rather flimsy I'd gently pull the gain knob to engage the -20dB pad and the knob would just come off completely.everytime!Īnyway, last week I noticed I was getting a distinctly lower signal out of my right speaker. I've had my Mbox 3 for about 8 months now. ![]()
